Fort Uncompahgre

Fort Uncompahgre Interpretive Center is located in Delta Colorado and is situated on the south bank of the Gunnison River. The Fort, was erected by William Bailey and local volunteers to serve as a replica of the original Fort, built by French Trapper, Antoine Robidoux sometime between 1825 and 1832.

For over 30 years, Fort Uncompahgre has served as an interpretive center and informational resource for Delta County and the surrounding region. In addition to being an interpretive center for trapper culture and the Old Spanish Trail, the Fort operates a visitor center that is dedicated to providing public lands information and resources to the local community as well as visitors recreating in Delta County and the surrounding region.

OPERATING HOURS

Tuesdays and Thursdays 11:00 am to 5:30 pm

Saturdays 11:00 am to 4:00 pm
