Refuse Division - Responsibilities and Information
The City of Delta currently utilizes three (3) trash trucks to collect refuse from residential and commercial customers within its City limits. Please click here for the map of sanitation routes and pick up schedule. Please keep in mind that some exceptions to this schedule apply. If you have questions about your trash service, refer to Title 8 , of the City of Delta’s Municipal Code, or call (970) 275-4898.
Your trash may not be picked up if:
- Your container was too full/heavy, or was blocked/poorly placed.
- The landfill has closed due to wind/poor weather.
- A trash truck is being serviced.
- A holiday during the week has required a schedule change. Typically, if your trash pick-up day falls on a holiday, your trash will be picked up on the following business day.

Recycling
The City provides Recycling for CARDBOARD (brown and clean) ONLY which is available to residents and businesses within the City limits of Delta. To use this service, cardboard must be dropped off in the fenced-in area directly west of the Public Works building at 640 West 4th Street. Be sure to remove all Styrofoam/plastic/packing materials from boxes.
Recycling Plastic (#1 & #2 only), Paper & Paperboard, Glass (Bottles & Jars Only), Tin, and Aluminum can be accomplished by dropping these items off for FREE at the Double J Disposal Recycling Center at 21538 Austin Rd, Austin, CO 81416.
